The SOG Knife was designed by Benjamin Baker, the Deputy Chief of the U.S. Counterinsurgency Support Office. It had a stacked leather handle, an interesting clip point blade design, and a blackened blade to reduce glare.

Knife designer Spencer Frazer was so inspired by the original design that he created a company called SOG Specialty Knives based on the SOG Knife. What started out as a single commemorative model that paid tribute to the special ops that made it slowly turned into a larger knife company with dozens of models.

The SOG Super Bowie is one of the latest adaptations of the original SOG Bowie but with a larger format.

The precision-made clip point blade stretches 7.5 inches and made from functional AUS-8 stainless steel. Thanks to the hardcased black TiNi finish, the blade gets extra protection from the elements along with a reduction in the steel’s reflective properties during tactical applications.

The handle features the same classic and reliable stacked leather construction that provides comfort. Its hand guard and butt cap are both coated with black TiNi finish.

Finally, the leather sheath comes with a sharpening stone to keep the knife sharp and ready wherever you need it.
