The Spyderco Persistence Lightweight C136PBL combines the compact, proven Persistence design with a significant upgrade in blade steel. This version features a 2.75-inch CPM S35VN blade paired with a lightweight blue FRN handle, making it an excellent everyday-carry option.
CPM S35VN is a premium stainless steel known for its balance of edge retention, toughness, wear resistance, and corrosion resistance. The blade is full-flat ground with a plain edge, providing efficient slicing performance for everyday tasks.

Our Take: The Persistence Lightweight is one of those knives that delivers a lot for its size. The CPM S35VN upgrade gives this compact folder substantially more premium cutting performance than the standard Persistence, while the blue FRN handle keeps it lightweight and comfortable to carry.

We also repeatedly test for stress, wear, optimal heat-treating and actively search for higher quality, performance enhancing steels and materials.
