The Spyderco Sage 5 Lightweight Salt C123PYL combines the proven Sage 5 design with CPM MagnaCut and a highly corrosion-resistant Salt Series configuration. The result is a lightweight, versatile EDC that's especially well suited to wet, humid, or marine environments.
The 3.00-inch CPM MagnaCut blade features a leaf-shaped profile, full-flat grind, and plain edge. MagnaCut offers an outstanding balance of edge retention, toughness, and corrosion resistance, making it an excellent choice for an all-purpose everyday knife.
The bright yellow FRN handle keeps weight down while providing a secure grip. The Sage 5's Compression Lock delivers reliable blade lockup, and the reversible deep-pocket wire clip allows discreet tip-up carry from either side.

Making knives that consistently deliver reliable high-performance requires an ongoing commitment to testing. In our million-dollar testing facility we examine edge retention with a CATRA machine, look for rust development with Q-FOG, check the force needed to open and close a knife. We also repeatedly test for stress, wear, optimal heat-treating and actively search for higher quality, performance enhancing steels and materials.
