    Hefty Knife

    I really like this knife. It's HEFTY! Circumference at the widest part of the grip is 3-7/8". The blade is an honest 5" with 4-1/2" of edge, width is 1-3/8 and girth is 5/32". The knife is pretty and Damascus is as pictured. Downside? The knife came dull as a butter knife, the edge was course and had burrs and rolls. It took a LOT of work getting an even 20 degree bevel on it. The steel is hard. The brass bolster was turning green in spots and needed polishing and rouge to brighten up. The brass spacers in the handle are slightly wider than the wood. It's not enough to be an issue but one of the finishing details between being great and good (that and the edge --- e.g. 4 stars). The best sheath I have for it is 7-5/8" deep width is 2-1/4" with a 1-78" opening. All that being said... $60 very well spent.
