Smith & Wesson is one of the world's most recognizable brands, and for good reason. Since we first opened our doors, we have focused on designing and manufacturing innovative solutions that are unparalleled in the field of personal safety and protection. Almost every major law enforcement and military agency in the world has used Smith & Wesson products, and to this day, most police departments in the United States depend on our firearms and accessories.

We've been a partner to law enforcement since the late 1800s, developing crime-fighting tools that set the standard for the field. Our world-famous .357 Magnum® was developed specifically for law enforcement agencies, and the Smith & Wesson .38 Special has been adopted as the caliber of choice at one time or another by hundreds of police departments. In fact, our .38 Special is so popular, the Smith & Wesson Model 10 firearm that fires it is the only handgun in the world that's been in continuous production since it was introduced in 1899, and to date, over 6 million units have been produced.

We continue to search for high performance in our newest division, Smith & Wesson Advanced TechnologiesTM (S.W.A.T.TM). Through S.W.A.T., we're developing sophisticated technological tools that assist law officials at the city, state and federal levels. We bring the same high standards of craftsmanship and precision quality to our technology solutions as we do to everything else we make.

As a company, Smith & Wesson continues to flourish and grow. We are committed to strengthening our core safety and security business, and we are prospering through synergistic alliances with other best-of-breed experts in their field. The same innovative, forward-thinking spirit that drove Smith & Wesson in the beginning still inspires us today, and we look to a future of continued leadership, quality and craftsmanship in products and services that enhance public safety, security and protection all over the world.

Addition to statement on CA knife laws

Wanted to add that automatic knives with less than 2" blade ARE legal in California, hence products like HK Micro.

Thanks for sharing your feedback! We're glad you are satisfied with your purchase!

2nd OTF knife that arrived broken

It’s a handsome knife, and the size was perfect at 3.5”, but it was a very clumsy operating knife, for it to be a daily carry. This knife also only opened successfully, exactly four (4) times before the opening mechanism failed. At least it wasn’t as bad as the black Delta OTF, which never worked. All 3 of the Delta replacements that you sent to me are somewhere in a landfill. Never buying a Chinese made knife again. Anyway, I e-mailed you the very same day I received this knife to report that it too, was broken, asking if there was a solid OTF knife available for under $150, that I could replace it with. I still haven’t heard back. That was almost 2 weeks ago. I also purchased a SOG, from you last month, that’s both a beautiful knife, and it works great, but for $160, thats exactly what you’d expect. I’m looking for the same SOG quality in a 3.5”+ OTF operating knife, for about, or under $150. Is that even available? It’d be nice to hear back, so that I know what to do with this broken knife. If we can work this out, I’ll leave a much better review. Thank you.

Good product, great vendor

I work in the construction industry and often need either a third hand or an automatic knife. I am a fan of Smith & Wesson for both style and functionality. I purchased the SMOTF9B because OTF knives have a better chance of opening in limited space situations.
The SMOTF9B has the potential of being a useful tool as it is advertised and received. It is not extremely sharp as received and will need to be sharpened to be considered “sharp”. There is a distinct difference between opening with the right or left hand. Opening with the left hand is not 100% successful and requires a conscious effort to make it so. Fortunately for me, I am right-handed and I keep it clipped to my right front pocket for easy access.
Knife Depot has proven to be an excellent vendor. When I received my knife, there were some issues that deviated from 100% satisfaction. Knife Depot immediately took ownership of the issue and replaced the problem. There is nothing concerning their customer service that I could comment needs improvement.
