The CLIPIT family tree is branching out to include a new line of revolutionary tools called ClipiTools. They are specialty tools that combine a Spyderco high-performance cutting edge blade with the added convenience and functionality of a specialized tool. ClipiTools are a contemporary and new approach to the multitool and are setting new standards for the utilitarian tool offering convenience, performance, safety and reliability. The C176P&S ClipiTool with Serrated Blade presents two blade configuration options by having a smaller toothy-serrated, hollow-ground secondary Spyderco blade. The ClipiTool Serrated Blade features a two-inch full flat-ground 8Cr13MoV stainless blade offering unrivaled cutting performance for its size. The blade is non-locking with a forefinger choil that ensures greater security and safety when cutting. A Spyderco Round Hole is found on both the primary cutting blade and on the tool blade. The Serrated Blade features a small-sized Spyderco Hole that can be easily pinched between the thumb and index finger, smoothly releasing the tool inside. Each tool is non-locking and with a light push, folds back into the handle after use for safe transport An hour-glass steel pocket clip positions a ClipiTool so that it can carry tip-up inside a pocket.

Since starting Spyderco we've been told our knives are different, peculiar, even out there. All true. We didn't go into business to rake in a mountain of dough we're here for more selfish reasons- indulging our passion for creating knives. Someone once said to Sal Glesser, Spyderco's owner, 'You must design in the dark because your knives look so strange.' True again. Our recognizable appearance is a result of designing ergonomic functional tools rather than applying lipstick and nylons to a pocketknife. Making knives that consistently deliver reliable high-performance requires an ongoing commitment to testing. In our million-dollar testing facility we examine edge retention with a CATRA machine, look for rust development with Q-FOG, check the force needed to open and close a knife. We also repeatedly test for stress, wear, optimal heat-treating and actively search for higher quality, performance enhancing steels and materials.
