Product Description
The Smith & Wesson SWOTF9BS is an out-the-front assisted-opening knife designed for fast, convenient blade deployment without the automatic mechanism found on traditional OTF switchblades. Its slim profile combines an AUS-8 stainless steel dagger blade, aluminum handle, safety lock, pocket clip, and integrated glass breaker.
The 3.6-inch AUS-8 stainless steel blade features a double-edge dagger profile with a partially serrated edge. The combination of plain and serrated cutting surfaces provides versatility for everyday cutting tasks, while the black finish gives the knife a clean, tactical appearance.
The OTF assisted-opening mechanism uses a blade slider to deploy the blade from the front of the handle. A safety lock helps prevent unintended deployment, while the aluminum handle keeps the knife durable and relatively lightweight.
OTF Assisted Opening
Unlike an automatic OTF knife, the SWOTF9BS uses an assisted-opening mechanism. The blade slider engages the internal spring-assisted mechanism to move the blade out the front of the handle. This gives the knife the distinctive OTF format while using a different deployment system than a traditional automatic OTF.
AUS-8 Dagger Blade
The 3.6-inch AUS-8 stainless steel blade features a double-edge dagger profile and partially serrated edge. AUS-8 offers a practical combination of corrosion resistance, toughness, and edge retention for an everyday-use knife.
Integrated Emergency Features
The SWOTF9BS includes a glass breaker at the rear of the handle, adding useful functionality for emergency and preparedness applications. A pocket clip provides convenient carry, while the handle safety lock helps keep the blade secured when not in use.

Since we first opened our doors, we have focused on designing and manufacturing innovative solutions that are unparalleled in the field of personal safety and protection. Almost every major law enforcement and military agency in the world has used Smith & Wesson products, and to this day, most police departments in the United States depend on our firearms and accessories.
We've been a partner to law enforcement since the late 1800s, developing crime-fighting tools that set the standard for the field. Our world-famous .357 Magnum® was developed specifically for law enforcement agencies, and the Smith & Wesson .38 Special has been adopted as the caliber of choice at one time or another by hundreds of police departments. In fact, our .38 Special is so popular, the Smith & Wesson Model 10 firearm that fires it is the only handgun in the world that's been in continuous production since it was introduced in 1899, and to date, over 6 million units have been produced.
We continue to search for high performance in our newest division, Smith & Wesson Advanced TechnologiesTM (S.W.A.T.TM). Through S.W.A.T., we're developing sophisticated technological tools that assist law officials at the city, state and federal levels.
